Continuing Ceremony for Fall Equinox
2012-09-27
The ceremony for the Fall Equinox continued both above and below water. A wonderful creation of Quetzalcoatl, Feathered Serpent, Guardian of this Middle World, graced the gathering. Thanks to all who participated in making the creation, there were many of you! The idea is that people can put different written notes of what they want to let go of into the sculpture, and at the Winter Solstice when the 2012 wheel revolves, we will burn the creation, releasing the prayers to spirit.
The fire contained many sculpture burnables, and afterwards a Spring Peeper tree frog was on the glass doors leading into the house. Let me in! Thanks to Annerose and Marlene for photos.
Meanwhile another ceremony was taking place, one both above and under the water up at Tobermory, Ontario. In terms of the seasons, the fall is associated with the West in Celtic traditions, and the West is associated with water. An offering of flowers and leaves was made, and taken under the water to visit underwater mountains and ledges.Opening the directions underwater is a wonderful three-dimensional experience.
The small gobi fish are mesmerized by the flowers, and you can see them at the bottom of the flower offering. They line up to view the flowers, and one takes an occasional nibble out of a petal. Over time the offering disintegrates, the grasses that held it together letting go.
