Quetzalcoatl Fire Pictures
2013-01-02
A few Quetzalcoatl preparation pictures to get things started. What a fire it was, too!!!
Thanks to Sonya and Annerose for the idea and cocreation of Quetzalcoatl. Many others helped in the construction, and you can see how the willow branches wove together to make the body and wings, which were then covered in paper mache. Also, Q's first flight.
Then you see us making the cedar wood base for the Quetzalcoatl funeral pyre, stoking and decorating it. Some of the cedar wood is over 100 years old, from old fence rails. We also add beech and maple from the land. Lanterns are placed around the pyre, in readiness.
